My message to voters
After six years as your Mayor, I am enthusiastic about pursuing the opportunities and facing the challenges that are emerging for the coming term.
It is important that our dynamic, growing city continue to strike the right balance on economic, social and environmental questions.
Red Deer needs to be both ‘business friendly’ and ‘people friendly.’ We want to continue to attract diverse businesses to our community – but as well, people and companies locate here because (like you and me) they value green space, culture, family recreation and active neighbourhoods.
In the next three years, I am committed to meeting new challenges that include the need for smart infrastructure investments, environmental management, and innovative citizen involvement.
I know that relationships are the key to effective, progressive communities – relationships within the community, with the County, and with our provincial, federal and private sector partners. I thrive on that work.
Together, we have built an incredible community here in central Alberta. We need the integrity, active leadership, and vision to stay on the right track.
